Photography: Artist Studios
Spring Open Studios was at the end of April.
Owing to the quietness of the event I took the opportunity to photograph some of the artists and makers in the community.
Inspired, in part, by the Magnum Photo exhibition at the Aberdeen Art Gallery. Here are a few of the shots. Some of the studios benefit from really nice light by virtue of being on the top floor. It pours in beautifully on to the human made objects. I'm in love with the subtleties in form and colour that reveal themselves, within the ceramics pieces especially. The earthy tones and individual character of each piece never fails to excite. And no matter how digital the world becomes, the simple beauty in human made things can be astonishing. Woah...this was supposed to be about photography 😂.
